Your baby is deeply asleep. Depending on what works on your baby, there are ways that can help soothe your baby to sleep.

A sleep regression is often described as those moments when your baby sleeps well for a long time and then, all of a sudden, without any known cause, their sleep cycle goes downhill. We know that this is a super tricky period of sleep for your little one as there is so much going on. Why: The 4 month regression is supposed to be one of the most brutal, 6month less so, but every baby is different! American Academy of Pediatrics, Ibuprofen …

For babies over 4 months - Baby sleeping bag/ sack.

Being a new mom was overwhelming. My DH did some research online tonight and stumbled upon something called a 6-month sleep regression which is supposedly common.
3-6 month-old babies have around 3.5 hours of daytime sleep, spread across 3 naps, and need 2-2.5 hours of awake time between each nap. You can also check out this blog post Melissa wrote for Southern Mama and Child – it’s full of tips on how to get your baby to sleep while he or she is teething. If your baby is relying on you to go to sleep through rocking or feeding etc, they will now need you to replicate this EVERY time they wake between cycles (Every 35-45 minutes in the day and 2 hours overnight). 3 - 6 month old babies need around 2 - 2 ½ hours awake time between each nap. Today, we’re highlighting the 6 and 9 month sleep regressions. de Weerth, C., R.H. Zijl, and J.K. Buitelaar. Both of which lead to poor napping and/or poor nighttime sleep. For example, I found that it was really hard for my son to sleep after eating sweet potatoes, while avocados helped him get those sleepy eyes every parent adores.

Other babies, however, tend to wait a bit later. This is why so many babies thrive on having a good reliable pattern to their entire day - feeding and napping at predictable times. Catnapping is mostly common between 4-6 months and it usually leads to an overtired baby come bedtime because they haven't had the chance for a good long restorative sleep. Perhaps I'll try some baby porridge or similar.
