Your little one is on his or her way, and it’s time to celebrate! Most baby websites will tell you that throwing your own shower is a big no-no, but at the Birth Center of Northwest Arkansas we believe there’s no reason you can’t celebrate the impending birth of your baby! (Just don’t ask for gifts – you don’t want it to look like a money/toy grab.)

So, whether you’re throwing your own shower or your mom/mother-in-law/friend/coworker is throwing the party for you, you should definitely check out these baby shower venues in Northwest Arkansas. Of course, if someone is throwing it for you, she’ll choose the location – but there’s no reason you can’t send her a link to this blog for a few suggestions!

istock_000079855395_large-300x200If you or the party thrower can accommodate the guest list, think about having your baby shower at home. You can cook or cater, add all the decorations you want, and you don’t have to worry about making too much noise as you coo over those adorable little outfits Mom receives! Unfortunately, you’ll also be responsible for cleanup – make sure you have a game plan for setup and takedown so the mom-to-be doesn’t have to lift a finger!

The Crumpet Tea Room & Restaurant
The Crumpet Tea Room has locations in Bentonville and Rogers, but the Rogers Tea Room at Village on the Creeks has the perfect private room for baby showers with twenty or fewer guests. If you want to do any baby shower games, you’ll definitely want a private room. You can bring in your own decorations and plan your tea menu ahead of time so everything runs smoothly. There’s just something so sweet and elegant about an afternoon tea!

21c Museum Hotel
This Bentonville hotel/museum has plenty of spaces to accommodate parties of any size. This is a good choice if you’re throwing a bigger shower and have friends or family coming from out of town – they can stay in the hotel! It’s got a great restaurant, The Hive, which can cater your party if you wish. 21c will even put together guided museum tours or group scavenger hunts for the occasion.

The North Forty
The North Forty has a rustic, downhome vibe to it that’s wonderful for a more casual celebration. You can rent indoor or outdoor locations depending on the weather, and they’ll also cater your event if you wish. We particularly like this venue in the spring and summer; the park-like setting would be perfect for a baby shower picnic! This Fayetteville farmhouse is conveniently located, and it’s also a bed and breakfast in case you have out-of-town guests.

1905 Basin Park Hotel
We love Eureka Springs, and the Basin Park Hotel is right in the center of the action. Treat the mom-to-be to a prenatal massage at Spa1905 on the second floor while you decorate your rented room for the baby shower. Bring your own food, cake, streamers, and balloons and celebrate in this unique downtown venue. You can also choose to have your event catered. Eureka Springs is such a cute little town; we’re sure you’ll love it!

A Rogers’ Restaurant
A restaurant can be a great venue for a baby shower, as long as you choose an appropriate place. Don’t just show up at any restaurant with balloons, a cake, and twenty guests and assume that they’ll have room to seat you. Instead, reserve a private room or table at a place where the vibe fits the mood of the occasion (so, probably not a bar). Ideally, you’ll be able to reserve a separate room for a few hours, where you can play silly shower games and make lots of noise! NWA has a lot of great restaurants to choose from; some of our favorites are Levi’s Gastrolounge, Theo’s, and Tusk & Trotter in Bentonville.

The Park
Rogers has several parks, and many of them have pavilions you can rent out for gatherings. This is an inexpensive, fun place to host a baby shower if you don’t want to throw one at home but you aren’t looking for something quite as formal as a restaurant or hotel. Lake Atalanta has beautiful scenery, and they’ve just updated the Clark Pavilion. The Olive Street Park has a pavilion with picnic tables and electricity, and you can rent it for just $15 an hour. When the weather is nice, the park makes for a festive and easy baby shower venue!

Now that you have a good idea of some baby shower venues in Northwest Arkansas, you can get moving with the planning process. Whether your shower is at an upscale restaurant, a hotel conference room, or your hostess’ home, you’ll have a wonderful time as long as you’re surrounded by people who love you and your baby. It’s not about decorations, food, or gifts…a baby shower is a time to shower new mothers with love and celebrate the birth of a new family member!
